Here I Am, Lord, at Your Service
The Bible says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8–9).
There are many questions that surround the creation of humanity, yet I trust You, Father. I trust Your plan.
You could have given up on humanity after every mistake that followed Adam and Eve, yet You stayed with us. You joined us. You gave up Your life for us. Then You gave us Your power, Your presence, and access to all that You are.
For that, Father, I pray that I, and every person who comes to know You, may continue in the plans You began. This is only the beginning.
For a long time, I went to church, read my Bible, prayed, served, and did all the “right things.” Yet during that time, I never considered that what You began in Jesus would continue beyond Him and be lived through my own life.
Now, here I am, Lord, at Your service, not as my former self, but as my renewed self in You. I pray that I may be equipped and prepared to continue the work Jesus began for the generation in which I now live. Continue to feed my spirit, Lord.
No words can measure the gratitude I carry in my heart for what You have done. May my actions each day reflect my love and thankfulness for the second chance You gave humanity when You judged the actions of men who fell short of Your glory and then took the fall.
Thank you, Lord.
Amen.
